Description

Cyclocarya paliurus (Batal) Iljinskaja, the sole species of the genus Cyclocarya, is commonly known as the “sweet tea tree” in China and is used as traditional Chinese medicine. It is widely distributed throughout the sub-tropical regions of China. The extracts of C. paliurus, such as organic acids, alkaloids, and phytosterols, had a variety of medicinal functions. The leaves of C. paliurus have been used as a functional food or as nutraceutical tea for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus.
