Description

Moringa oleifera is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree of the family Moringaceae, native to the Indian subcontinent. It is widely cultivated for its young seed pods and leaves, used as vegetables and for traditional herbal medicine. The bark, sap, roots, leaves, seeds and flowers are used in traditional medicine. Research has examined how it might affect blood lipid profiles and insulin secretion. Extracts from leaves contain various polyphenols.
